Where is Your Life Going?
by Father Al Jenkins

I like this picture because it reminds me of a trip
I made to Australia and a train ride from Melbourne to Sydney.
There were miles and miles of miles and miles. But, good for the Aussies, because they pulled the train over promptly at four p.m. and had a spot of tea on fine china!
I looked at this picture and I looked at the blinking cursor under the title "Where Is Your Life Going?" and I thought, "Every day we get up, the cursor is blinking and we have the choice of what to write on that page of life." Hmmm? Do we write or does God write? Perhaps, it is a partnership or a relationship.
Where is your life going? What will become of you? Did you know life is a journey. I discovered life begins in the mind of God
before we are born and it matriculates at home with God when we get
to heaven. In between are all sorts of pilgrimage events. Perhaps we
are pilgrims on a journey! Pilgrimage and the privilege of living go hand in hand because life is
- after all - the action of God. So, I asked, "Where and how do I fit into these acts of God?" Where do you fit?
Recently twenty people met with me and we studied the Book of Acts.
This study was more fun than work. What is comforting is that the study proved God goes before us and is with us. God is involved in our lives, shaping our lives like a potter shapes a lump of clay. "Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand Isaiah 64:8.
God was in the past, God is shaping the present, and God holds the future.
May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us
what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21
