THE
ACADEMY EXPERIENCE
"spiritual renewal through quality Christian education"
The
purpose of the Academy is to provide a comprehensive Christian
education in a parish setting that will equip adult members to
function successfully in their ministries.
The Academy
courses are in the fall and winter.
Students must complete Old Testament and New Testament courses
before taking other
courses in the Schools.
When a person successfully
completes all the courses of instruction in one School, they
graduate at a Sunday service and receive a diploma.
If a
graduate desires to teach in the parish, they may apply for
certification as an instructor to teach Forums, Summer
Courses, and Special Courses. Currently, All Saints' has 12
trained lay instructors teaching classes and courses.
Sunday
Adult Bible Class is taught by those who have completed Old and
New Testament in the Academy or at a Christian school,
college, or university.
In 2011, All Saints' started
developing an entire curriculum for Sunday School and
Wednesday evening classes.
Students are often asked to
purchase a book(s), workbook, or both for the classes and some
classes require a final paper or practical exercise.
