Washing of Feet:
The rite performed on Maundy Thursday commemorating our Lord's washing of the feet of the apostles at the Last Supper.
Way of the Cross: A procession
with stations commemorating the Passion and Death of Our Lord Jesus
Christ. Also called the Stations of the Cross. The classical
stations of the cross are fifteen events. Often performed on Fridays in Lent and/or on Good Friday.
Word of God, The: The first part of the Holy Eucharist ending with the Peace. The focus of this part of the Eucharist is on the reading of Scripture and prayers of praise and petition. Also known as the Liturgy of the Word or the Ante-Communion.
Words of Institution: That
is part of the Eucharistic Prayer recalling the words and actions of Our Lord at the Last Supper. "Do this in remembrance of me."
Worship: The humble act of devotion to God. The self-expression of faith, love, and gratitude to God through prayer, singing, and meditation during a service in the church. A term often used to designate a church service (worship service). This term comes from an old English word meaning "worth." So, to worship, means to give "worth", placing "worth" upon the relationship that exists between God and ourselves.
