In Communion:
For the Episcopal Church to be 'in communion' with other Christian churches is to recognize mutually the orthodoxy and the apostolic ministries of one another and to welcome officially the clergy and laity to receive the sacraments in the other Church just as in their own.
Anglicans are officially 'in communion' with the Church of Sweden, the Old Catholic Church of Europe, the Church of India, the Lusitanian Church (Portugal), the Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church, the Church of Bangladesh, the Church of Pakistan, the Philippine Independent Catholic Church, the Mar Thoma Syrian Church (India), and the American Lutheran Church.
