General Convention:
The General Convention is the highest legislative body of the Episcopal Church. It meets every three years (triennially)
to enact laws (canons) to govern the Episcopal Church, and to pass resolutions stating the "mind of the church" on topical issues. It is made up of a House of Bishops and a House of Deputies.
Other members of the Anglican Communion hold similar meetings, though these are sometimes called General Synods (as in England, Canada, Australia and New Zealand).
