Baptismal Font:
A stand or pedestal, either of stone or wood, containing a basin of water used in baptism. It traditionally stands at the entrance of the church to signify baptism as an entrance rite into the church. At baptisms, it is brought to the front of the church. Some churches baptize from the baptistery.
Baptistry:
A space set aside only for the sacrament of Holy Baptism.
Belfry:
A church tower containing real church bells.
Bishop's Chair:
A chair set apart in cathedrals and some churches, reserved especially for the bishop (sometimes called the Bishop's Throne or Cathedra). Also, a moveable chair or stool ("faldstool") used when the bishop is present and sits for various parts of the liturgy (confirmation, ordinations, etc.). This is an item that is not necessary for a parish or mission and if a church has one, it should not be ornate. The oldest tradition is the placement of the chair directly behind the altar.
