Thank
you for your interest in flower memorials. Flowers bring a remembrance
of the majesty and peace of God and we experience great comfort from
the generous donations of members, friends, and loved ones that make
them possible for worship.
Flowers used at All Saints' Episcopal Church can celebrate any event
or honor anyone.
Among the most frequent reasons for flower memorials are:
- To glorify God
- For Christmas and Easter services
- Memorials for loved ones
- In celebration of significant spiritual events
- To honor achievements
- To honor a church ministry
- In thanksgiving for answered prayer
Possible flower memorials are:
Main Sanctuary for Sunday Services: Two large vases are prepared
each Sunday for worship and placed within the sanctuary. Most flower
memorials are made for these services.
St. Mary's Chapel: Many people have been baptized, married,
or healed here. These two vases of flowers are quite pleasing for
special ceremonies or for the Wednesday worship services.
Children's Chapel: The children worship here each Sunday and
it is a wonderful place for a memorial gift. Two vases are available
for flowers for any Sunday.
Columbarium: This is a special place within the church where
ashes of deceased members are kept in niches. The Columbarium lobby
has a registry book and two vases for flowers. You may desire to have
flowers placed in the Columbarium lobby on the anniversary of the
burial of a loved one or friend who is buried there.
Birth of a Child: We offer a bud vase with a single rose for
those who would like to make a donation in thanksgiving for the birth
of a child. This bud vase is set among the sanctuary candles behind
the altar for the Sunday worship services.
Christmas and Easter: It has been a long standing tradition
to offer flower donations for the celebrations of Christmas Eve, Christmas
Day, and Easter Day.
Possible
candle memorials are:
Votive Candles: Besides the usual flower memorials, people
have the added advantage of visiting All Saints' any day of the week
to say prayers and to sit quietly in one of the worship spaces. Often
these people desire to light a devotional candle, which we call a
votive candle. These are small candles that symbolize an individual's
prayers. Many of these candles are used by those in prayer. You may
make a memorial donation for them when you are in worship or prayer
at the church, or you may donate in the place marked on the votive candle
stand.
Paschal Candle: This is one of the most sacred symbols of the
church because it symbolizes the resurrection of Jesus Christ. There
is a special liturgy to light this large candle on Easter Eve and
it not only burns throughout the Easter Season, but it is used in
the worship services for baptisms and burials.
