DRESS CODE
Nursery
workers wear uniforms and names tags. They are responsible
for keeping them clean.
Volunteers are
asked to wear clean, modest and comfortable clothes. Clean smocks to
protect clothing are provided.
WORK ETHIC
-
Every nursery worker is certified in CPR.
-
Nursery workers follow Nursery Procedures and
Policies; workers and volunteers have completed Safeguarding
God’s Children on-line course.
-
Nursery workers’ focus is to lovingly care for
the children, reinsure safety, portray Jesus’ grace, encourage
forgiveness and goodness. Workers stay closely involved in
children’s activities and naturally become their friends.
-
Nursery workers are always punctual.
-
Nursery workers do not take
personal phone calls
during work hours and nursery workers do not bring personal
business to the work place (diaries, study books, etc.). When
there are children in the room, it is not time to socialize with
others.
-
Nursery workers finish breakfast/dinner before
families arrive. Hot drinks are not permitted in the nursery.
The workers do not chew gum. It is appropriate to have a
snack/drink while children are snacking.
-
Gossip is not permitted. Nursery workers do not
discuss others while on duty.
-
There are two adults present in the room at
all times.
-
Only authorized personnel are permitted to work
with the children. Friends and relatives are not allowed to stay in
the nursery rooms.
-
Nursery workers follow the Nursery
Schedule/Program.
-
For safety reasons, nursery workers always leave
the premises together (accompanying each other to the cars).
-
Needs or questions
are referred to the Early Childhood Minister. When she is not
available, then to the Children’s Minister.
-
Time with the children is a ministry to them
and to their parents.
SICK
POLICY
-
Workers do not come work when they are sick.
-
Nursery workers will not administer any medication
to children.
-
